Paris!

PARIS

So we arrived in Paris at about 11 pm and didn't get to the actual city center until about 12:30pm due to us taking Ryanair (a European carrier) which flies you into a really small airport way out of the way. When we finally arrived to the area where the shuttle takes us we still had to take two trains to finally get to our destination. Unfortunately, when we arrived at our final stop we got out of the train station and then got lost in Paris for about 45 minutes due to the minimal directions from the hotel. It was quite an adventure to say the least. We finally had to stop a guy who was also looking at us weird to get the directions to our hotel. He pointed us in the right direction and said that we were in a bad area (hence why he was looking at us funny). Right when we head the RIGHT way my dad pulls over some cops for about another 15min to ask again in which they had no clue and we headed our way to where the previous guy told us to go. We finally arrived in our hotel and was relieved to see that it was a very nice and clean and set to our expectations.

The next day we traveled by train to go the famous Louvre only to find that on Tuesdays of all days it is closed. We didn't let that get us down as we still enjoyed the area for at least an hour and then headed for lunch. Afterwords we headed towards the famous Notre Dame, which was open thank GOD. We enjoyed our time there and made sure to say a couple of prayers. It was really beautiful and of course jam packed. Since my dad was feeling under the weather we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. That night we had dinner at recommended Chinese restaurant in the area which did not disappoint. Our next day in Paris was spent visiting the Louvre which is crazy big and takes a crazy long time to look at everything. We couldn't finish the whole museum because we were all hungry and had to go eat lunch. After lunch we headed out in the city and did a little shopping for souvenirs and little knickknacks. That night Bobby and I went to the Eiffel tower but was unable to go to the top because it was too late. We enjoyed the light show of the Eiffel tower instead and it was just an amazing site to see. It was very romantic to just sit and watch the show. The parents did not go because dad was again feeling under the weather. On the final day of Paris we went to the big mall in the area where we almost had a heart attack with the prices of the clothes. Paris is EXPENSIVE to say the least. We spent quite a bit of time there looking around and then getting a bite to eat. We headed back to the hotel where we got ready for a fun filled night. That night we ate at an upscale French cuisine restaurant which was AMAZING!!! The food was just out of this world good and we were glad we experience good French cuisine because we did not get rave reviews on it. Afterwords we headed towards the original Moulin Rouge. The show was great and more than we had expected. All of the girls were natural (talking about breasts), which coming from America was a surprise to us. Too bad no pictures could be taken in the area as they confiscated them from us before we entered the main room. I think this was a great end to a great Paris visit.

Things to note:

1. It does not get dark in the summer in Paris until 11pm.
2. Merci= Thank you
3. Paris is EXPENSIVE and you better be ready to spend some dough if you visit.
